Little late with this blog so may be a little tight on the details!
We had three teams entered, two open and two starters.
Saturday was just Starters and consisted of; Calluna, Amber, Harry, Chance and another Chance from Grasshoppers. They did brilliantly, and won the division with Chance "2" making his debut and making his dad very proud!
Sunday was Hunters and Chasers
Hunters consisted of Winchester, Neville, Skye, Tes and Harry and Chance apprenticing. The day didn't go too badly, though they seemed a little outmatched by the other teams and ended up with 4th. However Chance and Harry were absolute superstars! Both of them running paw perfect and almost winning us a couple of legs! Poor Skylar was having a "Barbie" day and was distracted by the pools at the side of the ring, telling us all that it would be much more fun to splash about in the water as it was a rather warm day! They all ran fine and I am more than happy with the days result, but over the moon with our starter babies.
Chasers had a mixed day really, we started well, winning the first race and losing the second, we then had the afternoon break and when Digby came out he was lame! So of course he couldn't race, which left us with the three Open dogs and our two apprentices; Amber and Summer. So we decided we may as well give them both a fair shot at it and BOY did they surprise us! Summer was first up and with her on the team we managed to take our first opponents to five legs! She was amazing, not a paw wrong! Next up was Amber, running over Jasmines height and again, completely faultless, leaving Kay a little watery around the eyes! The pair of them exceeded my expectations and showed us they were more than ready for Open racing. Fantastic day, even if our "Top team" didnt get to compete fully, but hey running an 8" spaniel and still gaining 18.87 isn't a bad time at ALL!
Monday was Multibreed and Starters again.
Starters were first in, with Lyriq making his "proper" debut and ran much better than expected, ie; didnt spend the entire race down at the box end! Lexi managed a lot of runs in the warm up time, getting used to the busy atmosphere and was looking really good. Benee from RFT also joined us as did Teyha from Grasshoppers, Macdui also made his comeback and ran brilliantly all day, the team came third and exceeded my expectations.
The Mulitbreed team ran really well and won their divsion, Honey was running for Paws8 and she came away with a fourth.
Great weekend, soooo proud of our babies and the weather was gorgeous!
