Not the most succesful weekends (in terms of placings,) by a long shot, but boy did we have fun!
Saturday was Hunters; Kane, Neville, Skye and Tes with Chance as 5th dog and Calluna doing warm ups.
First race things were looking good, we lost 3-2 but all dogs ran really well, so no complaints, however, that really was the best race we had all day! Anything that could go wrong, did go wrong! Neville decided he liked the cheese in his mums pocket far more than his ball, and so half way through the day started dropping it half way down the lane! Tes decided she didn't want to do any close changes so was running out, and Kane and Skye had a couple of fumbles! They did eventually pull it back together and won the last race of the day, these things happen, dogs will be dogs and we have a couple of things to learn from this! Chance made his official Open Debut, having a tiny head pop on his first run, but then realised what he was doing and did three fantastic runs, onwards and upwards with that boy! Calluna, though not yet ready for Open racing is doing really well in the 2 minute warm up, no problems with the jumps, just sometimes forgets that she's supposed to turn on the box and take a ball! She is improving every time! Biggest surprise of the day was Skye running super fast and pulling out a 5.2!! Go Barbie dog!
Sunday was Chasers day, this was the first time since October that Bracken was returning to her rightful place, as she was now 10 weeks pos pup and to ease her back in, we had her sharing a place with Winchester. This day was not about winning the division, but actually getting close changes and hopefully repeating a sub 17 second time. Second leg of the first race...16.96! Go Storm Chasers! After that we got a little bit carried away and silly, getting light after light after light! In the afternoon we decided to calm ourselves a little and went on to win the next two races, coming 4th overall, not bad considering! So we are back doing the times we need to keep us a cut above the rest!
Harry did well in his warm ups, looking like hes remembering to go over the jumps, not round them! Hes doing just fine and coming along nicely.
Drax will be our next outing and we cannot WAIT!
