Storm in a Teacup placed fifth with their fastest time being 23.18. This team, despite only coming fifth did exceptionally well; Two of the dogs, Ollie and Gypsy made their debuts! Gypsy had previously been very worried about the whole tournament atmosphere, but this time she was more than ready and although she had a couple of blips at the box end she ran extremely well, even managing a few loose changes! Ollie was a super star, running as fast as his legs could carry him, taking the ball out of the box and trying so hard, he did manage to visit the other lane on a couple of occasions, but this wont last long once he is more focused, can't believe how well he did! Paddy and Billy seem to be gelling nicely, Natalie very quickly had to get the hang of starts and did a pretty good job, Paddy seeming to really enjoy running start dog, Kay managed some very scary changes, Billy not batting an eye lid! Diva the Viszla from Leeds did exceptionally well, running better than she has ever done! So Huge well done to them!
We also had two Open teams; Storm Hunters and Storm Chasers. Storm Hunters were making their team debut, with Macdui managing to run his first full day in Open! No chasing dogs, no running out (other than when he had a big fumble), no laps of honour, he looked like a well oiled flyball dog, I could NOT be happier with him, Marie has worked so hard with Macdui and now it has all payed off and we can officially say he is now a fully fledged flyball dog!! The day started off really well, but unfortunately little Ronnie got spooked whilst at the box end and so was very hesitant for the rest of the day, however as it was Macduis "special" day, none of us were bothered about winning and so Katherine was able to take it nice a slow with Ronnie and get him up and down the lane, still some work to be done with him, but hopefully he'll be back on full form when we return!
Storm Chasers had another successful outing, we were seeded fourth and came second! there was a race that could easily have put us in third, as Darryl insisted on getting three lights in a ROW! But fortunately we still came away with a respectable placing.
Really couldn't be happier with the whole team, we seemed to be really bonding and enjoying each others company, well done to Natalie and Karen for having their first go at ring party.
